Established in 2022, Addicted to Black café which formerly was located in Esplanade Mall has relocated to East of Singapore @ Ubi isn’t just your average coffee café. Its parent company, Smoke®, is a lifestyle brand that offers everything from furniture to fashion to gourmet coffee. We started in Singapore 2016 solely as a bespoke furniture line designing pieces meticulously with charred detailing using the ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique. We then quickly expanded to offer more furniture brands, fashion lines and a marvelous café, which was rebranded to Addicted to Black café for incorporating fusion food with specialty coffee on the east side of Singapore. A must try for the food will be our Laksa fusion spaghetti & Satay fusion spaghetti.

The journey from coffee roast to brew is key to both the philosophy and design of Addicted to Black cafe, which aims to provide different perspectives of specialty coffee at every stage and knows the complete provenance of every coffee brew. The mezzanine within the double-level store gives a suitably panoramic viewpoint from which to watch proceedings, looking down on the industrial gothic design service area of the cafe and the exclusively modified espresso coffee machine doing its specialty coffee job. Metal is variously polished and blackened and surrounded by a welcome use of wood. Underpinning the whole thing is the handcrafted reclaimed wood, whose natural patina suggests organic feel and craftsmanship right in Singapore.
At Addicted to Black cafe, we roast our own coffee beans and curated special blended tea leaves to ensure that our customers will get the highest quality beverage. Try our Smoke herb tea with a slight tinge of burnt after taste.
