Our beautiful solid wood Sora potpourri bowl wooden home decor has a lot of character. First, we have two tea light holders crafted into it. Second, the reclaimed solid wood of the Singapore rain tree makes up the decoration bowl. The cross-section of this particular end cut gives the wooden bowl an artistic and unique shape. Also, the interior has beautiful unique wood grain patterns and tone variations. In fact, the colours range from creamy white to roasted wooden brown. This bowl has a particularly interesting natural wood grain figure, resembling a Bagua(Early heaven sequence).
Bagua is one of the main tools used in feng shui to analyze the energy of a space. In particular, it is the feng shui energy map that connects your space to specific areas of your life. Meanwhile, this unique wooden home decor furnishings has contrasting colours and a smooth shine on the interior to hold your potpourri flowers at home. Here is one of the wooden home decor accessories tea light candle holders I've been designing & handcrafting recently. In fact, they are made from my stash of reclaimed Singapore solid wood like Angsana wood, Mahogany wood and Suar Wood from my over-cut piles.
We took inspiration from wabi-sabi to craft this Etsu 5 tea light wooden candle holder for homes. Using Shou Sugi Ban to hand char the wood created an exceptional patina to this art piece, incorporating Zen inspirations for homes. Also, the natural wooden live edge curve and convex shape of this home decor accessories piece will create an inspiring ambience to any corner of the house.

Every tree comes with its own unique history and quirks. It is fascinating for me to look closely and visualise the many possibilities of using Singapore reclaimed wood to recycle it into handcrafted home accessories/decoration. Usually, this will result in a variation on some design I’ve carved before, but this Angsana wood scraps directed me toward something different. I decided to design it into a fruit bowl accessory and enhance its textures with a Shou Sugi Ban finish. As a result, it creates a contrast between the natural wood grains and the colour of the inner wooden bowl. The finished result is a beautiful piece named - Shou Sugi Ban KANO Wooden Fruit Bowl. Use it as a home decoration & accessories or to hold your favourite fruits at the dining table.
